Sport Day 2013 | 运动节之2013

Sport Day, it’s a very common event which organized in school and kindergarten. When we sourcing any school or kindergarten before we make decision to enroll our kid, have you ever concern whether there is Sport Day during the fiscal year?

Honestly speaking, I did. When I see there is Sport Day in the program list. I will add point to the kindergarten.

I always like to have a balance learning environment for my kids. Not very academic driven or curriculum driven. I would like my kids can enjoy during learning process. Organizing Sport Day event is showing the school’s effort for the student to let them enjoy, interact with each others, even moderate physical activity has been shown to improve a child’s skill at arithmetic, reading and memorization.

This is Austin’s 1st time participating in Sport Day. Well, not only new to him, but also new to the parent as 1st time attending my kid’s Sport Day too.

School work - Heart Shape Card & Science

Here just a quick update on the latest school activities. And now is going to the last quarter of the year.
I am thinking whether to continue my son with this kindergarten or switch to other. Any idea? ….mummy in Kota Kemuning any opinion?

School work - Coloring #1

Coloring is 1 of the milestone in the development progress. I believe there are a lot of children development milestone out there for parent’s reference.

But for me, I always let it free for my kids. There is not right time to start for my kids to have coloring activity. As long as there are interest, happy, likes ….why not?

Edible Amaranth | Chinese Spinach

I found some colorful vegetables are full of nutrition. I believe this Chinese Spinach also the same.  It’s has green leaves with red stripes. Wonderful vegetable because it is rich of protein, Vitamin A, B and C. It has double amount of iron that compare to the regular spinach has.

So, this type of chinese spinach always is my 1st choice compare to the regular spinach. In fact, other than stir-fry it with garlic; prepare it in soup also another great cook.

It’s will look not very presentable to mix it for my kid’s porridge, but the taste still good. Normally I used to mix with some anchovies’ powder to increase the liking.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp minced garlic
pinch of salt

Directions:
1. Preheat the wok and add in olive oil. Stir for few second until the garlic is aromatic.
2. Add the spinach and stir for 2-3 minutes. Add some water if it’s too dry.
3. Until the leave is almost wilted and add the salt for taste.
4. Dip up and blend to puree. Mix in 1 tablespoon into cooked porridge and serve.
5. Store the balance in ice tray.

School work - Hari Raya Card

This is another art work before Hari Raya. I guess the teacher giving this art work should be because there are also Malay children studying in the kindergarten.

Now days, more and more Malay parent willing to spend a bit more sending their kids to Chinese based kindergarten. As far as I know, Chinese based kindergarten fee are double up than Malay based or Indian based kindergarten.

Last but not least, wishing all Muslim friends and family Selamat Hari Raya!

Come back to here, since I am rushing to enroll him to join the second semester for the childcare thus I have very limited choice. Most of them are full, so I strongly recommend you start the survey at least half year advance.

I am not going to tell what should be considered during kindergarten chosen as there are a lot of advises that you can found in mummy’s blog.

Here, I just would like to post some of his handsome shooting trying the sport suit.

Cauliflower is low fat. Even it's low carbohydrates; but it's rich in fiber and vitamin c.

½ of medium size cauliflower
2 bulbs garlic - chopped
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

4. Add in cauliflower and saute for 1-2 minutes. You may add some water if it's too dry.
5. Turn heat to medium can covered  with wok's cover.
6. Pour in bell pepper when the cauliflower is half way cooked.

I know some mummy will try to give all nutrition food to their little in a meal, this will end up the meal w’t taste as good as it was. Imagine I serve you potato, broccoli, tomato and fish in 1 pot meal, do you think it’s will turn out tasty? For me, definitely not! Unless I cook it separate like make a ABC soup (potato and tomato), sauté broccoli and steam fish. Yeah, this is tasty for me.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp black sesame powder (homemade)
1½ inch of pork lean
1 tbsp of wolf berries
10 scoops of rice
Anchovies stock

Directions:
1. Cook porridge with anchovies stock (mummy should know this steps, so i d't write in details)
2. Bring water to boiled and put in pork lean for 1 min, rinse to clean.
3. Wash and rinse spinach, cut in 2 inch and set aside.
4. Soak wolf berries and rinse to clean.
5. Put in pork lean when the rice is starting to boiled.
6. Put in spinach and wolf berries when the porridge is almost done.
7. Take out the spinach, wolf berries and pork and bring to puree.
8. Return the puree into porridge and add in black sesame powder.
9. Stir evenly before serve.

Thus, each time I try to imagine and make combination for my kid’s porridge which can turn out tasty and match to liking. Try this out, my kids very welcome it especially little Iris.
